- We've all seen the headline news and the latest educational updates. Students Raise $25000 for Children in Ghana, pat them on the back. Or, Students Raise Awareness for Homeless Youth. But my question to you is, Where is that content? Where are the standards? And, Where is the learning that goes beyond something that merely that feels good? In this highstakes educational world in which we live. we can't allow our projects to overtake the curriculum. So how do we do this? First I want you to think about balance. If we go too broad in our standards, we really run that risk of confusing our students. However, for too narrow, in our conclusion of the standards we can't meet the demands of our curriculum. Let's analyze some of these standards to illustrate this idea of balance. Generally, we think of our standards as, the Students will be able to do something.
