ADDIE: Development phase

- In the development phase, we get down to the business of building the instructional product that has been blueprinted in the design phase. It's time to begin writing and drawing out the instructional content, activities, and assessment instruments, essentially, anything that will be accessed by the instructor and learner during the learning process. Depending on the scope and complexity of the project, you, as the designer, may be doing the development work or you may be working with course developers, programmers, graphic designers, animators, video producers, authors, and editors. The bigger the team on the project, the more you will need to manage the execution of your design. In the development phase, we determine how we will build out the design prototypes to create a fully functional learning experience, adhere to the project plans, and ensure that the output meets the objectives identified in the analysis phase.
