Coordinate geometry

- [Narrator] So coordinate geometry, if we think about it, is really more algebra than geometry, which is why I'm showing it in the algebra chapter. We're just kind of showing how one variable's value affects the other variable's value in an equation. So in this video, we'll cover the basics. So here we have my hand-drawn coordinate plane. This is the x-axis, the horizontal one, and the y-axis is the vertical one. So, one fun fact about coordinate geometry is that it is drawn to scale. Exactly to scale, so we can really trust our judgment in terms of how things look. If I label the quadrants, this quadrant over this quarter is Quadrant One, this is Quadrant Two, this is Quadrant Three, and then this is Quadrant Four. Just names for the four quarters of the axis. And then, just super basic for now, let's think about a coordinate pair, or a point. So let's say, if I label that, and I label that, the point three two, would be right there, and we would write that as three comma two. The…
