- [Instructor] In this video, I'll briefly explain what the GMAT is, and what's it's for, and describe the basic structure and timing of the test. So on one level, the GMAT with test your math, reading, grammar, and writing skills, but it's also going to test your ability to analyze, think critically, and manage your time wisely. So it's for business school of course. It's computer adaptive which means that during test the difficulty changes whether you get things right or wrong, and there are four sections, quantitative, verbal, analytical writing, and integrated reasoning. So analytical writing, one topic 30 minutes. Integrated reasoning, there are 12 questions, you also have 30 minutes. In the verbal section, there are 36 questions and you'll have 65 minutes, and for the quantitative section, AKA quant, there are 31 questions, and you'll have 62 minutes.
