- I know you want to get your business leaders to support your learning initiative. But are you addressing their fundamental concerns? To address this, I created the acronym RADAR. I use this tool to always remind myself about these concerns and how to address the most common questions they may ask. Let me break it down for you. First, R stands for resistance. Leaders tend to be resistance to training programs because they must allocate limited funds to the areas that will contribute the most value for the organization. This is why they will ask, "What is this going to cost?" What leaders are actually asking is, "What is the value your initiative will "deliver for the money you're asking for?" While you may have the qualitative improvements your learning initiative will have on the organization, your leaders still need to see how you're spending the money you require.
