- [Instructor] So polygons are just shapes formed by straight lines. In this video, we'll talk about a few things you need to know about polygons for the GMAT, some of their basic names of regular polygons, and the sum of the interior angles of a polygon. So I think we all know that this is a triangle, and this is a square. So, I'll give you a couple more definitions of polygons that you may want to know. A rectangle is a shape with four right angles. So technically, a square is a rectangle as well. So this is our rectangle. We also might want to know what a trapezoid is. So the thing about a trapezoid is that this base and this base are parallel to each other. Now if we have a parallelogram, so this our parallelogram has two sets of parallel sides. These are parallel, and these sides are parallel to each other as well.
