- [Instructor] So ratios, or the relationships of one number to another, are important arithmetic concepts for the GMAT. So in this video we'll talk about how to work with ratios and proportions. So if I just said something simple to you like hey, the ratio of a to b, that's just telling us that it's a over b, so we can write a to b as a over b. Now, ratio is really just a relationship between two things. So this is kind of showing us the relationship between a and b. So let's put this into numbers to make this a little bit more concrete. Let's say we had the ratio of dentists who recommend Trident to all dentists. So I'm just going to write the ratio of dentists. Let's say that that ratio was four to five. So the four would represent the dentists who recommend Trident. And this is all the dentists, all the dentists. And notice that we can express that relationship as a ratio or a fraction. The dentists who recommend Trident, four, and then all dentists, five. So 4/5 of dentists…
