- On average, we look at our smartphones more than 20% of the time we're awake. If you're a sleepwalker, you might even look while you're asleep. Mobile devices are ideal for learning because you can take them anywhere and they can handle learning materials in any format, text, graphics, audio, video, and multimedia. You can also create your own materials and complete assignments. If you want to use mobile devices as tools for learning, I recommend setting an intention on where you want to grow. In what area of your life do you want to be a better mobile learner? What are your goals? I'll give you three scenarios related to school, work, and personal development. As you listen, consider which of these three scenarios is most relevant to you. First, if you're taking classes, very few teachers create activities that take advantage of your mobile device.
