Using apps for media-based assessment

- As a mobile learner, you should be able to check your understanding of what you've learned anytime, anywhere, right? But anytime doesn't always work if you want feedback from classmates, coworkers, instructors, or trainers, and anywhere doesn't work when you need to be in a specific environment, like a lab. Let's look at how media based assessment tools, like simulations and virtual labs, help fill those gaps. Simulations provide complex, real-world scenarios for you to practice diagnosing situations, making decisions, and taking actions. The simulators also give immediate feedback, so you can make any corrections before you try again. For example, nursing students use simulations to get experience with clinical patient care, as well as new health care technologies, all without risking people's lives.
