Using mobile devices for writing essays

- For many people, writing essays does not come naturally. Conveying original ideas, informal language, with correct grammar and references that support your argument, that can be difficult. Let's explore using mobile devices to complete the three stages of essay writing: outlining, drafting, and editing. First, start by structuring your thoughts. Use an outlining tool like Outlinely. Organize the ideas for your essay. Even if you're writing an essay longer than five paragraphs, you can borrow from that process. Start with your core idea. What's your argument or problem statement? Then list the ways you'll explain the concept or details on how to solve the problem. Last, share your conclusion. Now you have a main idea for each paragraph. Then you can list supporting ideas under each one, such as a quote to validate the point you're making. Second, let's create a draft essay simply by talking. After all, most of us talk way more than we write. Even with an outline, you may have a hard time turning that into a well-written essay. Use a dictation app like Dragon Dictation to convert what you say into a draft text document that you can edit. Take your outline and pretend that you're explaining the ideas to a friend. Now you have a rough draft that you can edit. Third, editing. When you're ready to edit, it's time to correct your grammar mistakes and suggest better word choices, where necessary. Often, when we talk, we use informal language, or we use the same words over and over. Grammarly will point out what you need to fix and offer recommendations.
