- [Instructor] So certain GMAT problem-solving questions will have variables in the answer choices. In this video, we'll talk about a technique specific to this type of situation. So here, we have a problem. And right away, as soon as we look at the answer choices, we can tell that it's a variables in choices because we see variables in the choices. So we note we can probably solve this algebraically, and we should always know how to do things multiple ways if we can. So if you can solve this algebraically, great, but this technique is specific to adding numbers to a problem with variables in the choices to make it a little bit easier to conceptualize. So let's read this problem. Deedee's Donuts sells a dozen donuts for d dollars. At these prices, how much would x donuts cost? You may be confused.
