Weaken the argument
- So some critical reasoning questions using language like undermine or cast a doubt on will be asking you to weaken the presented argument. Let's take a look at a weakened question and work through it. So here we have an argument, let's bring up the question. Which of the following, if true, most seriously weakens the student's argument? So if we take a moment and read this. In college newspapers, the number of articles in which alumni were interviewed was lower last year than it was the year prior to last. However, last year, there was national unrest that caused disturbances on most college campuses, so it is likely that the low number of articles in which alumni were interviewed was because of the disturbances on most college campuses.
