What is an LMS?

- [Instructor] Let's get started by taking a look at what a Learning Management System, or LMS is. I'll start out with a simplified definition. A Learning Management System is a platform that allows you to create, manage, deliver and track elearning. This could be a course for students, training for employees, enrichment and growth opportunities, or anything in between. An LMS is a platform which allows instructors to create and curate learning content, to deliver this content to the learners, usually in an online format. To assess learners and deliver feedback. To track their progress and to improve communication. From the perspective of learners an LMS is an online platform which allows them to access and complete courses, training or online learning content, often on a wide variety of devices.
