If you're intending to record training videos, in addition to your computer, you will also need a microphone if you want your voice to be heard by your viewers. Now, as you're probably aware, there's an entire world of microphones out there. But, lets talk about some of the basic characteristics you should be looking for. First of all, your computer might already have a built in microphone. Nearly all laptop computers these days have a built in microphone, and some desktop computers and monitors have them, as well. I only mention this because I recommend that you stay away from using them for recording video training. The sound captured by built in microphones is generally not of a very high quality. You tend to pick up a lot of back ground noise from the room. And, your voice sounds thin and tinny.
