Welcome

- [Voiceover] Hi, I'm Garrick Chow, and welcome to Instructional Design Essentials: Creating Video Training. In this course, I'd like to share with you some tips, tricks, and teaching techniques specific to video training that I've learned over the years. I'll start off by discussing the differences between in-person and video-based teaching and how to plan your courses based on your understanding of your audience and anticipating potential questions they may have about your material. I'll offer some pointers for defining your course and movie level objectives, and how to decide whether to prepare outlines or complete scripts for your videos. We'll look at the requirements for recording your videos, including options for screen capturing software, microphones, and how to pick a good recording location. I'll offer suggestions for things you should and shouldn't do while recording, and what to do when you make mistakes. Then I'll demonstrate some basic editing techniques to clean up your videos, and prepare them for sharing with your students. Let's get started with Instructional Design Essentials: Creating Video Training.
