- [Voiceover] Excel has a variety of formats and anytime you want to go behind the scenes and get to some of the formats you might not be seeing on the home tab press Control 1. It activates the Format Cells dialog box and lots of choices here on the Number tab most of them numerical, not all of them, and there's a feature here called Custom, where you can create your own. When you see this list sometimes it's a bit overwhelming. What do all those symbols mean? I don't want to go into a great deal of detail about these, but there are some features in here that you might want to know about. So let me close this and set up a scenario. Nothing wrong with the Job Rating entries that we see over here in column J. It just might look more interesting if the numbers are maybe preceded by dots or dashes.
