- [Lecturer] When you're trying to gather 2 summary information, sometimes it's necessary to write 3 a formula that gets data from different worksheets 4 from within the same workbook. 5 And although less common, sometimes you need 6 to write formulas that gather data 7 from different open workbooks, different files. 8 In this particular workbook, there are four sheets, 9 California, Texas, Florida, New York, 10 that have exactly the same layout. 11 And there's also a summary sheet here 12 and we want to write a formula on the summary sheet 13 that gathers data from the other four sheets. 14 Now we can do this in a couple of different ways. 15 If we've got 10 sheets here, 50 sheets, 51 sheets here, 16 the formula we're about to see is not going to work so well. 17 So we're going to show you two different methods here 18 of writing formulas 19 that gather different data from these four sheets. 20 So I'm going to start in cell B4.…
