Create range names from Column and Row headings

- [Instructor] To provide better documentation 2 for some formulas in Excel, 3 you might consider using what's called a range name. 4 You can give a name to a single cell or a group of cells. 5 It can even be multidimensional 6 across multiple columns and rows. 7 If you've got a list with headings, 8 you can actually create names in a very efficient way. 9 Let's first remind ourselves how we can create 10 a range name in a more standard way. 11 Say, I just want to give a name to these cells here. 12 They're related to the California data. 13 So the standard way to do this could be either by way 14 of the command that we see on the formulas tab 15 up in the ribbon called Define Name. 16 A fast way to do this is after highlighting the data 17 just to the left of the formula bar, we'll see the name box. 18 Now, click the drop arrow to see if there are 19 any other range names and there are none in this workbook. 20 And I'll simply…
