- [Instructor] When you summarize data in Excel, you need to make the best use of space possible. In this movie, I will show you how to create a graphic within a single worksheet cell, that summarizes whether you met, did not meet or tied with a goal. My sample files O5, O7 Win/Loss Sparklines And you can find that in the chapter five folder of the exercise files collection. The data in cells B2 through B8 summarizes how a store performed versus its sales goals. A positive number means it exceeded its goal. Negative means it did not and zero or a blank cell as we see in cell B5 is a tie. The type of sparkline that I want to create is called a Win-Loss Sparkline. It was invented by Edward Tufte, a Graphic Designer. And the idea is that you summarize data with essentially a word like graphic or chart.
