- [Instructor] When you work with large amounts of data, 2 there's no question that filtering is a great tool 3 for seeing just what you want to see. 4 But one of its drawbacks is that you're not always reminded 5 of what you are not seeing. 6 In Excel 2010, a new feature was introduced, 7 but it was only available in PivotTables. 8 It's called a slicer. 9 It's now available if you've got data 10 that's been converted into a table. 11 Now, not everybody's familiar with the table concept, 12 but anytime you're working with lists of data, 13 like this, with no embedded subtotals, 14 no empty rows, you can convert the data into a table. 15 Can actually do it four ways. 16 Two quick keystroke shortcuts are: 17 Control + T.
