Import data from Excel to QuickBooks

- [Instructor] Oftentimes, rather than moving data out of QuickBooks and into Excel, accountants want to do the opposite. They want to take a bunch of data that a client has in Excel and move it into QuickBooks. This is possible, though unfortunately not as easy or as powerful as we might like. Let's take a look at how that works. I'm in the 02_08 Begin Excel exercise file. Now, what we have here are transaction data throughout the year 2017. And in particular, if we just scroll through, we see a variety of different transactions with the date in column A, the description of the transaction in column B, and then the transaction amount in column C. And all of these are expenses. Now, one thing to be aware of as we look through this, all of this information is related to particular expenses for the firm. But we don't have any information about check numbers or payment types or anything of the sort. That is purposeful. QuickBooks won't let us import more than three columns for…
