Indent data and dollar signs
- Excel has an indenting feature primarily used for text, and most of the time we're in the situation like what we're seeing in column A here. This information has been indented, so has this, but in different levels. We see this also here. As we scroll down here, it would surely make sense here to take this data here and indent it to offset it from the heading. What some people do here, by the way, is type leading spaces. That's not a great idea because, strangely enough, those spaces will not always be of the same width even though it looks like you're only typing a single character. Let's indent these. Let's move them to the right. The Indent buttons are found in the Alignment group on the Home tab. Let's move these to the right. Increase the Indent. Move your content farther away from the cell border. We click it once. We might click it again. We could click it a few times if we wish, or go leftward with the button to the left. It just offsets the data much more easily and nicely…
