- [Instructor] This worksheet has about 700 rows 2 of HR-type data 3 and we need to fill in some information 4 in the columns that have the red headings 5 and they're all related to date-type calculations. 6 Probationary period ended. 7 We don't have this on the record 8 so we want to make sure we've got this here. 9 In most cases, this is six months later. 10 In some cases, we'll make some manual adjustments later. 11 How do we do this with a formula? 12 In effect, we want to say, take this hire date 13 and add six months to it. 14 Now, is that 180 days? 15 Is it 182 days? 16 What if we say we want it to be the same day of the month, 17 but six months into the future? 18 Rather than trying to calculate that, 19 use a function called edate. 20 We've got a starting date, 21 there it is in cell E2, comma 6, 22 and this means six months into the future. 23 There we are, 24 drag this down a few cells just to check…
