- [Instructor] Excel has a number of shortcuts that accelerate the way you do data entry. Not my favorite topic and probably not most Excel users' favorite activity. In this blue panel, you see on the worksheet in the lower left corner, three different techniques that we're going to be talking about. Multiple cell entry with Ctrl + Enter. I'm preparing lists in columns A and B, different city names, perhaps sales, different dates, but the city names will be repeating. So, for example, I need to put in the word Boston in cells, A2 and A3, I'll highlight those, let go of that left mouse button. Now with the control key, I'm going to click on A6. I need to put Boston in there, and also down a rows 10 and 11. So control key is still held down, highlighting all of these. For the moment, the active cell is A10, but no matter where it is, we type Boston. But, instead of pressing enter, we press Ctrl + Enter. You can do that with text, you can do it with numbers.
