- [Instructor] When you're dealing with names 2 and sometimes address lists 3 like we're seeing on this worksheet, 4 sometimes you want to split the information 5 into separate columns, 6 sometimes you want to join information 7 from different columns. 8 The two broad approaches we use in these situations 9 are found on the Data tab in the ribbon. 10 One of them is called Text to Columns, 11 this is strictly for splitting information 12 into separate columns. 13 A newer feature just to the right of this, 14 and your icons might look a little different on your screen, 15 just to the right of that Flash Fill, 16 that allows us to either split data into separate columns 17 or to join data from separate columns. 18 Let's first look at the data in column A. 19 Imagine that's a huge list 20 with other contact information to the right, 21 we can't sort the list by last name. 22 Now we can either split this information 23…
