- [Instructor] Excel has an unusual function called offset. 2 If you go to the formulas tab in the ribbon, 3 you might have discovered it if you click the lookup 4 and reference portion 5 and you will see offset. 6 Its description, returns a reference 7 to a range that is a given number of rows and columns 8 from a given reference. 9 That gives you some sense of the capabilities. 10 But let's show it in a real life example. 11 On this worksheet, I've got a list in column A. 12 It's been converted to a table. 13 It's not a prerequisite for what we are about to do here, 14 but it does suggest the idea that we've got a chart 15 to the right, and as the data grows, 16 the chart will expand automatically. 17 We're tracking data for nearly every day of the year here, 18 except for certain holidays. 19 There are sales every day, the list has grown. 20 If I click on any cell in the list 21 and double click the bottom edge, 22 you…
