- [Instructor] When you're trying to match up data 2 from different lists, as we see on this worksheet here, 3 you could imagine each of these lists being quite large. 4 It's not uncommon to see lists like this 5 on different worksheets, 6 but sometimes you're trying to match up information 7 to pull in related data. 8 So let's look at the list on the left hand side here. 9 First name, last name, ID. 10 We'd like to get the salary into this list. 11 Now we've got a list somewhere else that has people's names. 12 Here the names are together. 13 Last name, first name order, and we see salaries there. 14 Now in that list possibly we'd like to get the ID number. 15 So let's imagine we've got two different needs here 16 working off the opposite set of data. 17 And the way we approach these 18 is going to be a little bit different. 19 So let's first look at the list on the left 20 and imagine what we're trying to do here…
