- [Instructor] In this workbook 254-XMATCH, 2 we've got a list, 7 or 800 rows or so 3 of sales for the year 2019, 4 and it's sorted in ascending order by date. 5 The XMATCH function introduced in September of 2019, 6 a new function that will ultimately replace 7 the MATCH function, 8 and it has much more capability than that function. 9 We'll use it in a couple of different ways 10 in this worksheet. 11 We're looking for Miami in here, 12 we want to know the first time where it appears. 13 We think it's in the list. 14 We don't feel like scrolling up and down. 15 Of course, the list could be much larger too. 16 Let's see if we can match up Miami 17 with this list looking in column B. 18 =xmatch. 19 There's the value, Miami that we're looking up.
