- At different times in Excel, you might want to hide data. 2 This is most commonly done when hiding a column or a row 3 but you can also hide certain cells. 4 You can hide sheets. 5 In this workbook here, I'm ready to print out the data 6 and I just don't need to see in the printout Column F, 7 nor do I need to see Columns H and I for the moment. 8 So I've selected Column F 9 and holding down the control key, 10 I'll click and drag across the column headings for H and I 11 and then, right click and hide. 12 And not only is the data hidden 13 but when I jump into print preview with Ctrl P, 14 we don't see a gaping hole there at all. 15 So I'll probably print this and then escape. 16 And we're back here. 17 And at some point, I want to bring back that data. 18 Notice the indicator between Columns E and G. 19 That's a double line between the two, 20 also between G and J. 21 If I only wanted to bring back Column F, 22…
