- [Instructor] When you're trying to locate data within large lists, in particular if you're trying to do it at the character level, it can be problematic. What can be helpful at times is the use of what we call a wildcard. And in the blue panel to the right you'll see the two characters we're about to use, the asterisk and the question mark. And the definitions, although valid, don't mean a whole lot until we see some actual examples. Let's look at column A. These product numbers, like a lot of product numbers, probably are positional. Meaning, maybe for example, the first two characters refer to the color of the item, or the size, or where it was made, the time it was made. What we care about for the moment is locating those entries here where H is the third character. Now, H appears in row eight, appears in row 12, in the third position. But elsewhere it might appear as well, like in row 16 in the fifth position,…
