- [Instructor] Excel has a sophisticated add-in feature 2 called Solver. 3 If you go to the data tab, if this has been installed, 4 you'll see it off to the right. 5 This case we're not. 6 It's actually a variation on the feature called Goal Seek, 7 which is somewhat primitive in comparison. 8 Goal Seek allows us to change the result of a formula 9 based on one other cell changing, 10 so it cuts down in guesswork. 11 But Solver goes to the max. 12 It's as if we're saying we want this total here 13 in cell E15 to be 190,000. 14 But with Solver we can say, 15 let's base this new number 16 on maybe the sales number changing 17 and perhaps the training number, maybe this one too 18 and these down here. 19 The formulas in this worksheet 20 all depend upon the January entries. 21 On the formulas tab, by the way, 22 if we click the option off to the right show formulas, 23 you can quickly see what's going on here. 24…
