- [Instructor] In Excel, we sometimes need to use 2 what are called wildcard characters, 3 a question mark or an asterisk. 4 Sometimes, you'll need to use them 5 with the Find and Select feature. 6 That's a feature found on the Home tab, 7 the far right button, 8 or possibly when using a filter, 9 or possibly when using 10 any of the different COUNTIF function variations. 11 There's six different functions ending in the letters IF: 12 COUNTIF, SUMIFS, et cetera. 13 So let's explore some of these. 14 First of all, in column A, we've got some part numbers. 15 In a real-life situation, 16 we probably would have other columns adjacent to it 17 that are related, 18 but we need to isolate our view for the moment, 19 just those part numbers where H is the third character, 20 as in the first two examples. 21 So selecting column A and making sure the filter's active. 22 If it's not, go to the Data tab, choose Filter. 23…
