- [Instructor] One of the most common chart types is what we call a line chart, and we're looking at a worksheet called Line Chart in our Chapter Four, ColumnBarLine file. In this worksheet, we're seeing Sales, a blue bordered chart here based on the data to the left. A line chart is considered the best chart for showing a trend over a time period, or in some cases, maybe the absence of a trend. If we want to make a change to this chart, we can simply double-click, for example, the line. We might want to make that line thicker, or change its color, and another option that you might not be aware of, can make this line look smoother. So I'm going to double-click the line, and that activates the dialogue box off to the right, Format Data Series. And when you come to this dialogue box, sometimes you'll see two, three, maybe even four icons, it's good to explore some of these. At the moment, under the column, we see nothing of interest here.
