- Data-driven decision making, statistical analysis, it's all become an important part of life as we know it. As we navigate our world of business, science, politics, sports, and pandemics, statistics is the foundation for making good decisions built on data. So many people, devices, and events, the data piles up. Understanding how to describe the data by finding its middle, its edges, and then telling the story of data in pictures is vital for our personal understanding and also to help others understand. In this course, I'll show you how to deal with basic statistics. We're going to talk about some things you've heard of, like means, medians, and standard deviations. Plus, we'll talk about more in-depth topics, like normal distributions, the empirical rule, and outliers. Together, all of these tools will help you better understand your data set. This particular course isn't complex or nuanced, but it should get you thinking in the language of statistics, and then you'll be able to turn that knowledge into decision-making ability.
