- Sometimes with the IF function the actual test needs to involve multiple fields. There's a stand alone function called AND, another one called OR, another one called NOT. They can be used by themselves but they can also be used inside of IF functions. In column "I" here I'm about to set up a bonus situation whereby those people who meet two criteria, in other words, their status is full time and their status is greater than three. That's not true in the first case, it is in the second case but let's say this organization has decided to only give bonuses to those people that are full time and they must have a good job rating. Equal IF. The AND function can have multiple criteria. In our example you'll see only two and in no particular order. The status in cell F2 equals Full Time. This must be within double quotes, you have to spell it the same way regarding spacing. Upper, lower case, doesn't make any difference but it would make good sense to make them match this way.
