Implement and perform backups - Microsoft Exchange Server Tutorial
From the course: Planning and Configuring a Microsoft Messaging Platform
Implement and perform backups
- [Instructor] Windows Server 2019 has a built in backup program for which we can backup our Exchange mailbox databases. We need to go to server manager add roles and features in order to install the Windows Server backup and we'll just scroll through until we get to our features page and then we'll check the box that says Windows Server Backup. Click next and install. This usually just takes a few minutes and we need to make sure we do have a storage device. So while we're waiting, we'll go into file explorer and we see that we have a volume that is 149 gigabytes which is more than enough to backup our C drive. So we'll use volume E for our backup. And once we decide to use a particular volume, it will make it so it's unavailable for anything else to use that volume and it will actually disappear from our file explorer. Our installation succeeded so I will click close, go to tools and scroll down to where it says…
