- [Instructor] Prior to Exchange Server adding the archive feature, users would have to export email over a certain amount of their mailbox off to a PST file, which would be a personal file located on their local computer. And the problem with that was that every time you reach two gigabytes in your personal PST file you would have to create another one, which made it very difficult to manage. And if you were looking for a specific email from the past, you wouldn't know which PST file it was in and which to search. So Microsoft came up with this archive option in Exchange Server 2019 and you can see on the first two users, it is enabled. And to enable that, it's really easy. You just highlight the user you would like to enable and then scroll down to where it says in place archive and click enable.
