Plan mailbox database requirements

- [Instructor] Planning for the mailbox databases of a mailbox server involves many different factors. These factors include taking into consideration the existing messaging deployment if the planned deployment is a migration from a previous version. We also need to discuss how staff use their email and the desired mailbox size. For instance, do the users use the email system as a storage device? Do they send a lot of large attachments or attach documents into calendar items? These may require additional storage, as well as higher user limits. Other factors to consider are desired resiliency. Database availability groups allows us to copy all of our email into separate databases on other servers and synchronize that data. DAGs can add high availability but do cost more to implement.
