Fattening sounds using chorus effects
- Chorus effects are very similar to delay effects. The main crucial difference is that chorus effects often use LFOs to modulate the pitch. Without going into too much detail, the main thing you need to know is that chorus effects are a great way of widening a sound, and making it seem like there are multiple instances, or voices of that sound. It works great on string and pad instruments, for example. Here we have our project files open, with a demo pad sound open in the playlist. And what we're going to do is open up a new instance of the Fruity Chorus. Here it is, available under plugin database > installed > effects > VST. We've already got the sound linked to our insert one on the mixer. So once again, as with the Fruity delay and the Fruity reverb plugins, all we have to do is click and drag it on top of insert one. This brings up the Fruity Chorus panel with all its parameters. The delay control sets the minimum amount of time between the chorus voices. The depth parameter…
