The Piano Roll menu

- The Piano Roll is the best way for creating MIDI melodies and drum patterns in FL Studio. You use the Piano Roll to create MIDI and pattern blocks and then draw these patterns blocks into the playlist. Let's take a look at the interface and familiarize ourselves with the menu. First of all, you have a piano keyboard on the left, which operates in a way that you would expect. You then also have a toolbar at the top, which has tools such as the Pencil tool, Mono Paint, Poly Paint, Delete, Mute, Slice, Select, and Zoom buttons, as well as a Play button as well. All of these buttons lets you either create, edit, delete, or in other way, alter MIDI notes that you have drawn into the Piano Roll. Let's now take a look in more detail at the main menu. Clicking on this dropdown button here will let you select the main menu with all the usual options available.
