- A lot of computers come with a built-in web camera these days. It's built right into the monitor or the laptop screen and that's great, it's convenient, it's integrated. You have it and it works. The challenge is is that it's just one more part in the device and so instead of really putting a lot of effort into making sure it's top of the line, it's kind of in the middle. It's good, it's not great. It works and you always have it, but it's not the best. I've gone ahead and I've brought out a second dedicated web camera. This particular one is from Logitech and it's a 1080p model with its own built-in microphones, that's nice. And what I like is that this often offers software so you can really configure the camera and it's just a higher quality stream. Now let's start by plugging that in.
