- [Narrator] So let's review the problems that can be caused by many-to-many's and then I can show you how once we resolve that with the join table, we can solve each one of 'em. So in review, we have one actor that may act in many movies, and we also have one movie that may have many actors. So here's some of the challenges we might face if we try to create a many-to-many relationship directly between those tables. The first of which is that ultimately, we want to create a report that lists actors, their individual roles, salary and total salary in all of the roles that they've ever played. And so, anytime we create a new layout, the first question we have to ask ourselves is what's the context of this layout? Specifically, what table is this layout going to be based off of? So when you're looking at a report that needs one record that would equal one actor in a movie, along with some other attributes about that intersection, you have to think to yourself, do I have a table that has…
