Applying container field options
- [Instructor] File Maker allows users to store files within container fields inside database records. Now when you're using container fields, you also have the ability to specify for each instance of a container field on a layout, whether or not a container field is formatted to optimize for static content, such as images, or for interactive content, like movies, audio files, or even PDFs. Now this option is specified on the layout object itself, so that means that every container field that's on a layout can has its own behavior. And I'm going to show you how to set that up in layout mode in just a second, but what I'd like you to make note of, if we click inside of our container field, the company logo container field, you'll notice that under the insert menu I've got two options available, picture and file, and you'll notice that the audio, video, and PDF are grayed out.
