Cascading portals
- [Instructor] So traditionally when we are talking about relationships between tables that are more than a table away we really don't need two relationships between, let's say, a parent table and what we refer to as a grandchild table, because there are records that are in this table that are already related to the parent table. So for example, any product invoice record that is on an invoice that's related to a customer is related to customers already. But what if we want to see product invoice information for another reason? That's where this next technique comes into play. The concept here is that we want users to be able to click on an invoice and then see all the line items from the invoice on the portal below. So in order to be able to do that, we actually are going to need a relationship between customers and the join table and we're going to also need a field that can act as the key field there.
