- [Voiceover] I'd like to introduce you to a search technique that seems like it might be similar to something that we've already done in this chapter, but it's different that doing an inclusive search using two or more requests. There may be times when you want to add or remove from your current found set as opposed to searching within the entire database of records. So in these cases, you will use functions that are called constraining and extending found sets. So for example, let's say I want to do a search by entering find mode and then entering California into the state. I hit perform, and I get 23 records. Now, I'm going to go back into find mode, and this time I'm going to type in inactive in the status field. Now if I go ahead and hit enter, what I'm going to get back are just any records, 147 of them, that have inactive in the status field.
