Creating databases from Starter Solutions

Once you've become familiar with the FileMaker application, and how to set it up, there are a couple of different ways that you can start creating databases. Of course, by scratch, which we'll be covering for almost the remainder of this title. There's also some other ways that you can get going with your FileMaker database rather quickly. The first one I'm going to show you in this video is what's called using a starter solution in FileMaker. So you'll notice when you first open up FileMaker you may in fact see the Quick Start screen and you'll notice that over on the left hand side you've got the ability to create a new database, convert from existing, but this is the option that I'm talking about here. If you've decided to dismiss your Quick Start screen when you open FileMaker, you can go under the File Menu to New From Starter Solution.
