Deleting records and backing up files

Deleting records out of your FileMaker database is pretty easy to do. And actually it might be a little bit too easy as a matter of fact. You'll notice that you've got a button here on top that when you press, it'll allow you to delete a record. You can do the same under the Records menu or the corresponding quick key. Any time you try to delete a record you are going to get a message asking you if you definitely want to delete one. And I should caution you that this message, if you don't pay attention to it, could look very similar to this other message, the delete all records message. Really all that they do is it just says all and then gives the number, but it's very important to not accidentally delete all records in your database. It goes without saying. Luckily, the Delete All Records does not have a corresponding quick key, and when you do select it, the Delete All isn't the default option.
