- [Instructor] FileMaker provides many tools in layout mode for configuring the behavior of fields to make data entry easier and more efficient. And among these are the field's control style which enables you to define a value list for data entry and then to format a field to display the value list as either a pop-up, a drop-down list, or a series of checkboxes and radio buttons. There's really two primary benefits to formatting fields in this way. First, you get faster data entry by your users. And, more importantly, it leads to greater data accuracy. In each case, you can apply a field control style either to an existing field that's on your layout or you can pick a field control style as you're dropping a field on the layout. I'm just going to show you this with the ShipmentStatus field right here. I'm going to select ShipmentStatus, I'm going to open up inspector over on the right-hand side.
