- [Instructor] A goal for any data management system must be to strive to have consistent data. Now, to ensure that data is entered into your FileMaker custom apps in a consistent and reliable manner, you must design checks and restrictions on the way that users are allowed to enter the data into your app. Now, this is where field validation capabilities inside FileMaker Pro Advance will come into play. field validation is a field option, and like all the other field options, we can access them by going under the File menu, to Manage and Database, and you'll see that we've got the Field tab selected here. If you don't have that, you can go ahead and select it, just like I have on screen, and also you'll notice that I've got the Customer table selected. I'm going to choose AddressEmail, and you'll notice that when I select a field from a list, the Options button is no longer grayed out. This is where all of our field options are available to us.
