Logic functions: The Case function

- [Instructor] Introducing conditions into your formulas can help reduce the amount of calculations that you need to create and it can also make those formulas a lot more powerful as a result. For example, in this file, we've got a commission field, and we're using the IF function to introduce a condition. In this case, we have a test where we say if the invoice subtotal is greater than 1,000 if that happens to be true then do this, which is multiply that by 0.05, giving us our commission total. Or if it's false, show 0.00 because, in fact, there would be no commission in that case. Pretty powerful, and this eliminates the need for us to have a commission formula that's greater than 1,000 and another formula that's less than 1,000. We do it all in one function. Now, let's say that things get a little bit more complicated, though. Our formula now has different tiers. Instead of it just being if it's greater than 1,000 then make it 0.05, Now we have if it's under 500, make it 5%. If…
